Join us for a relaxing social evening of life drawing, no experience needed. Bring your own sketch pad/paper and pencils, have a drink and draw as the model poses in relation to the vibrant and tactile collage works in our current exhibition, Nicole Ellis: Fabrications. This is not a formal drawing class, but we are happy to give you some tips if you need them.

Tickets are $15 and include entry and a glass of wine.

Tickets are limited to 20, booking essential. Book online here.

Fabrications covers thirty years of art-making by Sydney-based artist Nicole Ellis. It surveys her rich and complex involvement with collage, assemblage and found materials. Fastidiously selected textiles comprise the ‘palettes’ and provide tones and textures that she moulds into consistently beautiful, poised, luminous compositions.

Ellis’ recent works dwell on embodiment as a phenomenon of representation – or to be more accurate, in her case, as a phenomenon of ‘re/presentation’ – and in so doing they conduct an extended meditation on the history of painting, representational and non-objective, classical and modern.

Nicole Ellis: Fabrications is curated by Tony Oates
